"rosy cheeks and everything"

I took a bunch of pictures of Lauren today (she's 12 wks already) and wanted to share a few of my favorites with you. I particularly liked how her cheeks seem to have a natural rosy glow. It reminds me of Jane and Michael when they see Mary Poppins floating in... "rosy cheeks and everything!" I may be a bit biased but I don't think it's only Mary Poppins who is "practically perfect in every way". I tried to take some pictures of Davey as well but he only sits still for about thirteen seconds. I did manage to get one decent one of the two of them before Davey said "No" and shoved Lauren out of the way to jump off the chair and pull every toy off the shelf in six seconds flat, but just for fun, I added a few pictures of Davey at 12 wks. for your viewing pleasure :) Now, if we could just get Mary Poppins in here to snap her fingers and "tidy up the nursery" that would be great. And "don't be all day about it..spit spot!" (alright...I'm done!)

what's new

We had lots to do last week...

Davey...

- Had his 18 month well-baby check up. He weighed in at 24 lbs. One pound up from his 15 mo. appt (which is fairly impressive considering the amount of running this child does). The Doctor ( whom we LOVE) describes Davey as funny,smart, adorable and brilliant...see why we love him!?!

-had fun seeing Uncle Matt and Aunt Krista who were visiting from Florida.

-Enjoyed spending time with My Aunt Jan and cousin Gabe who were visiting from Seattle. We wish Gabe lived closer! He's so great with the kids!!!

-is totally enthralled with the bird feeder Daddy put outside his bedroom window. Now instead of kicking and screaming through a diaper change he likes to watch the squirrels try to jump on the feeder. Some of our regular visitors in our woodland wonderland include, but are not limited to, a pair of cardinals, a family of chickadees, a downy woodpecker,several busy squirrels and a nasty blue jay! Makes for a wide-eyed Davey :)

-in attempts to get out of taking his nap, proceeded to yell out every excuse in the book..." Ma-er" (water)... "Da Da" ..." ow-ee" ... "Mommy"..."b" (blankey)... "nu" (nuk)..."Louie" (Lauren)!!! Nice try Davey :) Mom's smarter than that.

-went to Charlie's 5th birthday party at pump-it-up. He loved it!!! He also enjoyed being carried around by Maddie the whole time :)

-has been caught giving "Louie" lots of kisses, stealing her nuk, and bringing her blankeys.

Lauren...

-had her 2 month well baby check-up and weighs 10lb. 13oz. and is 21 3/4 inches. She is doing everything she's supposed to be doing!!!

-attended her 1st wedding. She decided that since we didn't get a front row seat she would prefer to stand in the back the entire time. She liked all the white lights at the wedding and standing in the back was a sure fire way for her to get the best view (or so she told me!)

-visited her 1st boyfriend in the hospital. Zachary was born last monday and we were SOOO excited to go see him. He and Lauren are going to have a growing contest and although Lauren's 1 lb and 4oz ahead right now, I bet he'll catch up soon. We are looking forward to seeing him again soon!

-will cry, cry, cry until you stand in front of the mirror and do deep knee bends while holding her out so she can see herself in the mirror. Such a girl thing!

-enjoyed meeting new family for the first time and appreciated never being put down!!!

-smiles non-stop at Daddy, wrapping herself around his finger as we speak!
